We’ve all hear it. Diet and exercise. The question remains: A diet of what and what kinds of exercise?
How it works:
The key is to eat every 2 and a half to 3 hours, without fail. I recommend the meal replacements because it’s not always easy to eat 6 meals a day, you can do a meal replacement every other meal or any 3 meals in the day.
Why? Because your body is a furnace, if you don’t put fuel in it will start storing food in the form of fat, if u keep it buring it will start using food as fuel and your fat will be consumed as well as long as you follow the instructions below.
Why does sugar/carbs make you fat?
Sugar or glucose is a form of energy for your body. The simpler the energy the faster your body can use it. You can find high levels of simple sugars in white bread, white rice, many members of the yam family (ie potatoes), and of course sugar. There are other names for sugar like Fructose, Sucrose and Glucose. Over all sugar is needed by your body the problem is spiking your blood sugar level. When you eat products that are high in simple sugars they spike your blood sugar level and your body’s response is to release insulin(provided your not diabetic) it’s a necessary process. The reason we get fat is insulin takes the sugar in your blood and stores it as fat. That’s why, when you eat too much sugar, you get tired after eating. That’s also why McDonald’s and other fast foods will get you heavy in a short period of time. There is excessive amounts of sugar in your soft drink, fries and the bread from your bun. Not to mention that a few of these fast food places add sugar to the meat itself.
Why is salt bad?
I’m not a doctor but what I do know about excessive salt is it helps your body retain water. Bloating and swelling. Not a good thing.
What about trans fats, what are these and why are they bad?
Tran fats are bad because they are man made. Saturated fats are like blocks of fat in your blood stream and cling to the walls of your arteries coating them and constricting blood flow. Unsaturated fats are less likely to do that. Trans fats, however, are the worst, your body does not now how to handle them because they are not natural they also leave a coating on the walls of your arteries but the coating is much smoother and regular. This creates a buildup that doesn’t move off of your arteries very easily. If you put butter on a knife and rinse it under water it’s irregular shape will create create pockets of resistance and will move off bits and pieces. Margarine is much smoother and will allow the water to move over the surface but will not budge. The end result is anything that is “hydrogenated” will lower your good cholesterol AND raise your bad cholesterol. That takes us to our next point, fiber.
What is fiber? Why am I supposed to eat more?
Fiber comes from a plant. Plant cells, unlike animal cells, have walls. These walls are made up of cellulose. When we consume fiber this cellulose works in our body to move and push out things. It cleans the walls of our intestines and absorbs things in our blood stream. When you increase your fiber you actually end up lowering your bad cholesterol and raising your good cholesterol. Here’s the bad news: white rice, white bread, french fries, and white pasta have very little fiber. They are processed and simplifed and that processing destroys most of the fiber. The good news? If you switch to Brown rice, wheat bread, wheat pasta, or eat oatmeal/bran or other things high in fiber that will not only help you get your fiber but those things don’t have simple sugars. So you won’t get tired after eating them (as long as you’re not eating loads of sugars in other parts of your meals.) These foods have a low glycemic index.
What is the glycemic index?
Glycemic index is a scale used to measure the way sugar breaks down in your body. When something has a high glycemic index then carb becomes a simple sugar easily. That’s not a good thing because of what we spoke about above. When a carb has a low glycemic index thenĀ it becomes a sugar over time, the more time it takes the less likely it is to spike your sugar. It will give you a steady amount of energy.
Low GI(Glycemic Index) Less than 55 | Medium GI: 56 – 69 | High GI: 70+
You need to eat protein, carbs and oil, not saturated fat like butter. If it’s a solid fat, at room temperature, then it’s saturated, and you shouldn’t be eating it. Try to eat grilled or baked, if u can. Definitely. no fried foods.
You’ll need a serving of protein and cabs for every meal and a serving of veggies for two of those meals. A serving is easy to measure, it’s a hand full. If you’re bigger, you’ll have bigger hands, smaller, likewise. Easy.
The recommended foods are as follows:
————————————
| Protein Chicken Breast Turkey Breast Lean Ground Turkey Swordfish Orange Roughy Haddock Salmon Tuna Crab Lobster Shrimp Top Round Steak Top sirloin steak lean ground beef buffalo lean ham egg whites or substitutes low-fat cottage cheese |
Carbs Baked Potato Sweet Potato Yam Squash Pumpkin Steamed Brown Rice Steamed Wild Rice Pasta Oatmeal Barley Beans Corn Strawberries Melon Apple Orange Fat-Free Yogurt Whole-Wheat Bread |
Veggies Broccoli Asparagus Lettuce Carrots Cauliflower Green Beans Green Peppers Mushrooms Spinach Tomato Peas Brussel Sprouts Artichoke Cabbage Celery Zucchini Cucumber Onions |
Fats/Oils Safflower Oil Sesame Oil Canola Oil Flaxseed Oil Olive Oil |
After years of study there are two routines that I consider to be phenomenal. The results are fast and effective and they get your whole body in shape, both will give you washboard abs and a great physique.
This routine is good for men and woman, woman will not get as big as men because they’re levels of testosterone are significantly lower. They will get in good shape and be toned.
If you’re serious you should get this. It’s myoplex, it’s 58% off. It’s a meal replacement, you need to bring up the amount of protien and carbs you eat. Here’s the link in case the above doesn’t work.
http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=ZD-1174
and this, it’s muscle armor you should shop around you can get it for around 60 bucks. It helps you recover faster.
Next you need the routine:
It alternates,
day1: upperbody,
day:2 cardio,
day3: lowerbody,
day4 cardio,
day 5: upperbody,
day 6: cardio,
day 7: pig out, no gym. (Cheat day, yay!)
Now how it works for upper body, lower body and cardio. You need to print outĀ these sheets:
http://www.bodyforlife.com/exercise/journals.asp
Download the two excel sheets at the bottom. There are 84 days for both workout and 84 days for meals, print it all out.
Now the HOW of working out.
You need to pick two exercise for each muscle group. All the sets have a one minute rest between, except the last one. no rest in between the last one. Now every set for a muscle group is the same, except the last one. You need to switch excersices and no rest. You judge the weight u need to used based on intensity, explained below.
Ex.
say you pick, for biceps, dumbbell curls and the bicep curl machine. this is what it would look like.
12 reps: dumbbell curls
one minute rest
increase weight
10 reps: dumbell curls
one minute rest
increase weight
8 reps: dumbbell curls
one minute rest
increase weight
6 reps: dumbbell curls
one minute rest
decrease to original weight, or less, depending on how u feel
12 reps: dumbbell curls
NO REST
12 reps: bicep curl machine
two minute rest
move on to next muslce group
The cardio is broken down, to the minute, based soley on intensity, on those sheets.
You should hit the levels it indicates. 1-10, 1 being, doing nothing and 10 meaning you’re cursing the day your mother met your father.
To increase intensity with weights, usually u need to up the weight, if you don’t make it to all your reps then you need to lower your starting weight.
To increase intensity with cardio, up the resistance or speed, depending on the machine, maybe both, that’s up to you.
If you hate gyms or don’t have time to make it to one, this one is perfect for you, all you need is a dvd player or a computer with a dvd player, some floor space and time.
It’s a 90 day routine that will get you in amazing shape and has everything you need to get started. The only downside is you’ll have to buy the dvd’s. You can find them here or at http://www.extremebodyworkout.com/p90x-products/p90x.php
Now there’s no reason you can’t get in shape. Even if you choose to do something different you now have the tools you need to have the body you’ve always wanted. Read the rest of this entry »

Qualcomm has just released a technology under their mirasol division that looks to be the number one contender in replacing e-ink. Not only does the display not use power when the display is stable, the frame rate is fast, 30fps, fast enough for video, and let’s not forget it COLOR!!! The question remains, how much. To see how it works just click here. There’s a video below demoing the technology.
more about “Qualcomm’s mirasol showing color vide…”, posted with vodpod
Qualcomm’s mirasol showing color video @ 30fps! from IntoMobile on Vimeo.
This is perhaps one of the most amazing, emotional, awe-inspiring and insightful videos I’ve seen from TED, and that’s saying something.
A lot of people don’t know that Microsoft has a program with certain schools that allows students to obtain free copies of programs. You can learn more and see if you qualify at: http://www.microsoft.com/student/en/us/software/windows-7.aspx
Even if you don’t qualify, fear not. As long as you’re a student you can get a copy of Windows 7 for a mere $29 at the link below for a limited time (End of December, I think, but don’t quote me on that):

Where are you stationed?
Within the Baghdad city limits.
How long have you been stationed in iraq?
A couple of months now.
Where are you originally from?
Good old Indianapolis Indiana.
Most of indiana is influenced by Christianity, how does it feel to be in a country that is influence by another religion?
Huh? I didn’t know the christianity part haha
but to answer your question its really not different to me. The citizens we see and meet love us and ask us for different things like food water and soccer balls, really all smiles and friendliness, so its not to bad really.
Have you ran into any civilians who are not happy with the military presence, and if so, how do you deal with them?
I personally have not, I’ve only been out a few times and every time its been a pleasant experience we have protocols with those who respond negatively though.
Over here whenever we see anything to do with Islam often the worlds fundamentalist or extremist are used in conjunction with Islam. Islam claims to be a religion of peace. Being in a Muslim country do you feel that they are peaceful or more fundamentalist/extremist?
I’m not sure honestly, I don’t find out the religious views of any of the people I meet here. The language barrier makes it kind of hard to communicate but everyone i have met have been friendly and peaceful.
Some people say there’s no such thing as a just war. How does your unit feel about the iraqi invasion and occupancy?
It would depend on what time frame being deployed here now we are ready to come home we don’t do anything but supervision for their police and army to make sure they can hold on their own but also this wasn’t any conventional war.
You say it would depend on the time frame you asked that question. What are the different time frames? Incursion, Securing Iraq, and Occupation?
Those would be the different types of warfare. I think that it varies with each sometimes the initial invasion is unjust, with securing is neutral, and occupation is just. Take now for example we have occupied, our job now is not to destroy in any form but to rebuild, and improve we have built numerous water treatment facilities, waste management, power generators that make life easier, and the countries citizens much happier.
Where you saying that’s how it is with this war?
Mostly for any war in what I’ve seen and read initial invasions there are no rules, a lot of innocents get killed securing is focused on just us entrenching ourselves and occupation is the rebuilding part.
What advice would you give a person who is about to join a branch of the military right now?
Hmm, that could be a long list actually haha. I guess make sure its something you can dedicate yourself to the military is time consuming especially on a deployment, you are gone from home a lot so it can be extremely tough if you aren’t dedicated to it.
If you could a different military branch which would you choose and why?
I think i would choose the army again, I’m good at my job here.
If you can go back again and choose whether to go back and enlist would you?
The air force was my original plan but they kind of fell through, and the army was always open.
Why the Airforce?
To be a pilot, but with any branch you can almost choose any job you want. I’m not sure if I would re-enlist or not, i enlisted at 17 haha. It would depend on if i had a girl or not i guess.
What would you send from the states to a friend of your’s serving in Iraq that you know he/she would definitely appreciate?
Hmm, it would depend on what that person likes everyone is different someone might like one thing, and hate another, and that be the complete opposite from the next. In general things here now are pretty just like back home we have internet, running water, everything I guess any form of entertainment now books, magazines, and such.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences and is there anything that I may have missed that you’d care to share with my readers?
Haha, I’m not sure at all haha first interview myself feel free to ask more when you want to.
Thank you again for your time.
This was a rather impromptu interview if you guys have any questions you’d like to ask our soldier friend I’ll forward them to him.
By now you’ve probably heard about how the raw movement effects cancer but I’ve stumbled upon some helpful information with specifics on what to eat and what it does. Here’s a quick list. Use it as a reference guide and feel free to comment with your remarks.
Sugar Cleanse- Eliminate anything white like rice or wheat or white bread. Eliminate all sugars in coffees and tea as well as anything with “High fructose” or any Corn syrups.. since those are hidden names for sugar. Simple sugar is the problem like in white flour, it’s process to be simple. No bagels or toast. She can have whole grain only and careful with store bought pitas, not all are made with wheat flour.
If you absolutely need to have a bit of sweet then try Stevia but use very little.
Splenda and anything with phenokelenes or aspartame will create carcinogens (Cancer causing elements)
Block Carcinogens – Berries (Goji Berries, Camu Camu Berries, Organic Strawberries) A handful of berries a day should do it. Try and mix up the variety.
Halt Tumors – Garlic. Try a quarter of a clove in the morning of fresh raw garlic. That will help halt tumor growth.
Destroy Tumors- Cruciforus Vegetables (Broccoli, Broccoli sprouts, Onions, cabbage, cauliflower) Google it but any vegtables that are cruciforus, taken raw, will destroy tumors
Turmeric+Black Pepper- Block Blood vessels creation in new tumors. That’s why people in Pakistan have less cancer cases. The diet includes black pepper and turmeric. The fresher the better. Turmeric is great but if you add black pepper it multiplies it’s potency by a factor of 1,000.
Every amazing piece of technology that is purposefully invented starts with a question. The question that the creator of Google Maps asked was: “If email were invented today, what would it look like?” That question has led to Google wave. In my humble opinion it will make email as impacfull as the internet. Instead of being just an electronic note it is a live collaborative tool. The video explains it all.
Moisturize your face AND neck daily
Don’t wear too much makeup if you do, wash of your makeup the second you don’t need it.
Dress up but don’t show off your ASSets like you’re having a bake sale. No one will buy the buns if you’re giving away free samples.
Always wear a bra, even while sleeping
Measure yourself for a bra, your girls are worth it.
Make exercise a part of your routine now and you’ll thank me later
Drink plenty of water
Ask for help and remind a man you are a woman with playful and gentle words, when need be
Offer to pay but accept a man’s payment
Never put out if you really like a man. A man that wants to take you home can’t wait but a man who want to take you to his family’s home can.
Don’t tempt yourself. If you hang out, alone, with a man when you’re already in a great relationship you are one slip away from messing it all up.
Don’t cheat, open the relationship or break up.
Don’t cheat because you’ve been cheated on. Karma’s a bigger bitch than you are.
Empathy that’s acted upon, communication and trust are necessary components to every great relationship.
Lack of communication is the death of a relationship.
Use your mind AND heart. Don’t assume because you love someone it will work out neither should you assume that just because that person has all the things on your list, you will love them.
Love is a living thing. It grows and dies based on how we take care of it.
Girls this list will be ongoing.. so make some suggestions and I may add them.
